Toyota ends LGBTQ event sponsorships and exits HRC index

Toyota told US employees and dealers it would halt sponsorship of LGBTQ events, end participation in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, and narrow community activities to STEM education and workforce readiness. The company cited "a highly politicized discussion" around corporate DEI commitments. Toyota had held a perfect score on the HRC index for 15 consecutive years.
