Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
Complicity Navigator is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Website
The Complicity Navigator website does not collect personal information. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics services, or any form of user tracking. We track aggregate page views to understand which pages are visited, but we have no way to connect these views to individual users or devices.
When you submit feedback or suggestions through the website, we receive only the information you choose to provide. This may include the page you're viewing and your message. We use this solely to improve our database.
Voting
When you vote on the actions companies should take, we store your choices in your browser on your computer. This information never leaves your device. We collect only anonymous vote tallies on our servers—the total number of votes per option, with nothing to identify you or your device.
We do this to show community consensus about what companies should do. Your voting data is yours and never shared.
Your Voting Data
This panel reads your browser's local storage to show you exactly what voting data is stored on your device. None of this data is uploaded to our servers.
Pinned Officials
When you pin officials to track, we store their identifiers in your browser on your computer. This data never leaves your device and is used only to highlight your selected officials at the top of vote pages and the officials directory.
Your Pinned Officials
This panel reads your browser's local storage to show you exactly what pinned official data is stored on your device. None of this data is uploaded to our servers.
Campaign Progress
When you check off action items on campaign pages, your progress is stored in your browser on your computer using local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. It exists only so your checkmarks persist when you return to the page.
Browser Extension
The Complicity Navigator browser extension:
- Reads the current tab's URL (not the page content) to look up company information in our database
- Does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history
- Does not collect personal information, except your email address if you choose to provide one
- Only communicates with complicitynavigator.com
- Uses local storage only to cache lookup results for performance
When you voluntarily submit a suggestion through the extension, we receive the URL and title of the page you're viewing (not the page content) along with your message. This information is used solely to improve our database. Email addresses are only used for follow-up on a suggestion. We do not sell or share this data.
Third-Party Services
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. External sites we link to (such as news sources) have their own privacy policies.
