Meta pays $25 million to settle Trump lawsuit over account suspension

Meta agreed to pay $25 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit President Trump filed after Facebook and Instagram suspended his accounts following the January 6 Capitol attack. The settlement includes $22 million for a fund toward Trump's presidential library. The Wall Street Journal reported that at a November Mar-a-Lago dinner, Trump told CEO Mark Zuckerberg the lawsuit would need to be resolved before he was "brought into the tent."
