Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta would end its third-party fact-checking program on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, replacing it with X-style "Community Notes." He cited President Trump's election as a "cultural tipping point towards once again prioritizing speech" and said fact-checkers were "too politically biased." Meta also announced it would lift content restrictions on topics like immigration and gender, relocate its content moderation team from California to Texas, and elevate Republican Joel Kaplan to lead policy.
