YouTube agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle Trump's lawsuit over his account suspension after January 6, 2021. Most of the money—$22 million—will fund a new White House ballroom. Google was the third major tech company to settle similar lawsuits, after Meta ($25 million) and X ($10 million). Legal experts said the case had little legal merit, with one professor calling it "straight influence-peddling."
