Boeing donated $1 million to President Trump's inauguration fund, calling it a continuation of its "bipartisan tradition" of supporting inaugurations. The donation came as Boeing faced ongoing FAA oversight following a January 2024 incident when a door panel blew off an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 due to missing bolts. In May 2025, the Trump Department of Justice reached a deal allowing Boeing to avoid criminal prosecution over two 737 MAX crashes that killed 346 people. A judge dismissed the case at the DOJ's request in November 2025.
