Brown University settles with Trump administration for $50 million

Brown University agreed to pay $50 million over ten years to Rhode Island workforce programs and adopt sweeping policy changes to restore $510 million in frozen federal funding. The agreement requires Brown to use Trump administration definitions of "male" and "female" for athletics and housing; prohibit gender reassignment surgeries and puberty blockers for minors; end programs promoting race-based admissions; and submit admissions data for government audit.
