Amazon ends DEI programs

Amazon announced it was "winding down outdated programs and materials" related to DEI. VP Candi Castleberry communicated the changes in an internal memo, stating the company would shift to approaches that are "built in" rather than "bolted on." Amazon scrubbed its website sections on "Equity for Black people" and "LGBTQ+ rights," consolidating them into a single paragraph. The company later removed all references to "inclusion and diversity" from its 2024 annual report.
