Elon Musk's X agreed to pay approximately $10 million to settle a lawsuit President Trump filed in 2021 after Twitter suspended his account following the January 6 Capitol attack, citing risk of further incitement of violence. A federal judge had dismissed the lawsuit in 2022, ruling that only governments can violate First Amendment rights, but the case remained pending on appeal until the settlement. Musk reinstated Trump's account in November 2022 after purchasing Twitter for $44 billion.
